Scope of Crop Management
The key factors in increasing production of edible crops are:-

  • Plant nutrient in the form of chemicals, fertilisers, organic fertilisers, trace elements, etc. in India this factor has been greatly taken care of by both Government and Private Sectors.
  • Prevention and control of pests and diseases of food plants. Though preventive aspect has not been greatly improved, the use of various chemicals to combat plant pests and diseases are widely used. This however is a major subject of controversy.
  • Good Seeds - As stated elsewhere, this is a growing sector, with farmers being aware of the value of good seeds.
  • Water Management - This is an area where great changes must be affected if crop yields are to be increased. Unless the farmers are educated to learn that water has to be used judiciously, crop yields will stagnate or decrease.

Role of Pallishree in Water Management
Pallishree has a large network of Sales Staff and Dealers throughout West Bengal. Through Pallishree's high quality brand of 'Sufala' seeds, farmers have learnt the value of good seeds. This network can be used as an infrastructure, along with the Regional Governmental Organisations like Panchayets and Agricultural Officers, to teach farmers on Water Management.

The people of Pallishree realise -

  • Water wasted, is money wasted.
  • Excess water hampers production.

Over usage of fossil fuels directly in pump sets or indirectly through overhead power lines not only wastes this valuable natural wealth but also harms the ecosystem by increasing the green house gases.
